Default Questions about pet insurance

Hi,
I have a pug, and I'm aware that they tend to have health problems because of characteristics unique to the breed. I want to get my Harley some health insurance just to be prepared for any accidents that may come up.

What plans do you recommend?

What services are worth it?

And is it worth it? Should I really just set aside emergency money?

thanks!

I had the policy they offer Banfield (the vet at Petsmart) for a cat once. They have different plans. It was cheaper for the pricier plan because it paid for spaying. If I had a male, the cheaper plan would've saved me money because the copay + price to neuter was cheaper than the price of the premiums.

The point is, do your homework to maximize your savings.

Thanks,
yeah I'm trying to do my homework, I talked to someone at Banfield this morning. They're plan seemed reasonable because of the price of office visits alone. I'm concerned about emergencies and am looking for a plan that offers decent coverage of injury.

Default Pet Assure

I use a company called Pet Assure. This isnt insurance its a discount. You get 25% off on any service. the only thing is you have to go to a participating vets office and from what i can see, there are alot. You enroll in Pet Assure and they send you a member card that acts as a 25% coupon. When I had almost a $2000 bill for my pets surgery, the vets office took the 25% off right then and there. no claim forms. It helped me out alot at that time, and now i use it for follow up care and well visits.

the site wont let me post the website but look it up. the company name is pet assure.

There are various level of plans which are available for pet insurance. It depends on what essential areas you want to cover your pet. Cost depends on age, breed, location, pre-existing conditions of your pet.
