This is what we do at the kennel where I work...

We stuff the kong with dog biscuits and then, just line the inside top with P-butter to give it an odor the dog likes.

That helps ensure the dog isn't getting too many calories from the added treat in his diet.

Peanut Butter is quite fattening, so it should be given in moderation. You could try varying your stuffing by using pate, cottage cheese, yoghurt, etc, or even freezing your stuffed Kong in the smmertime is a great cool down treat.

Peanut butter is a good snack for a dog however as with any snack food a little goes a long way. It contains sugar and fat and that should be fed in limited amounts.

If you're looking for a good snack to give your pup in the kong why not plug the small end with a little peanut butter and fill it with plain yogurt and freeze it. The yogurt is better for the dog and by freezing the kong it'll take a long time for your pup to clean it out.
