Bloody hell!!! What a world we've created when you can't even trust a squeaky toy to be safe. I never buy ANY toys at the Dollar Store for the dogs. The majority of that stuff comes straight from China and that country has a dismal record with regards to safety. I'd rather pay more money for a toy from a reputable pet food shop and have at least some assurance that my dogs aren't consuming lead or other toxic crap.

BTW, a great toy for a dog that doesn't rip toys to shreds is those Fisher Price cell phones for toddlers. They're soft and play various ring tones when the dog bites the phone. Lara loves hers!

Thanks for the info. I also would never trust a toy from China. It may be a very unfair sentiment, but it only takes a few bad apples to spoil the rest for everybody.

I should check out the petstages products, the ones with the translucent blue rubber/vinyl or whatever it is made of. I am also very concerned about the issue for my birds.
