My pug's previous owner told us that she wasn't due for any vaccinations until Christmas. He didn't have any records or tags to give us when we picked her up, but gave us the number of a vet. We called the vet and they said that the dog was up to date and actually wasn't due until May. Because of the lack of tags, should I get her vaccinated asap? I'd like to take her to get groomed or something but she has no tags.

Can you go into the the vet's office & get her records? I never take tags in to the groomers, I just bring Wrigley's shot record & haven't had a problem.

You should be able to go to the vets and get a print out of her records...I can tell you having worked for Petsmart that if you take her somewhere like that the only shot they require proof of is the Rabies vaccine and they don't except the tag as proof..It has to be the Rabies certificate the vet gives you when the dog gets the vaccine.

Thanks. I was worried that we would absolutely need the tag, I was misinformed by someone else. I have a print out that was faxed, it has all of her records.
