vectra 3d ??? dog sick. help!
Help! I put Vectra 3 D on Gracie and 16 hours later she vomited, I'm afraid. Is she having a reaction? Should I bath the stuff off of her? I've never used this before, and will never use it again. Anyone know anything about this stuff, and what can I do now that I already put it on her? thanks.

Yes bath it off now. You are better off trying something like Advantix or Advantage if you are looking for topical if you cannot find a home remedy.

read the review concerning small dogs and cats.

I just bathed her good and then dried her. Will this still be in her system? Do you think most of it should be gone then? She is about 25-30 lb. so would you consider her a medium sized dog? This stuff smelled strong when I put it on her. I am so sorry that I didn't research this more first.

Most topical based flea treatments are not water repellent. The best way is to read the information on the vile and see what it says. I think only Frontline is designed to maintain its effectiveness even if the coat gets wet.

According to the package, it remains effective even after bathing and swimming. Do you think after washing it off it will be less effective? And maybe she will get better? thanks.

It depends on how long it was on before she took ill to determine how much was absorbed into the skin. If she continues being ill I would suggest getting her to the vet for a check up. The problem with topical is that not all are the same so when changing to new ones, it is always advisable to get as much info as possible first. I use Advantage on my small dogs and have never had a bad reaction and considering I have 28 dogs, if there was a problem with it, by now one of them based on percentage would have shown it. None have and I also use it on my cats. It is not water repellent which was another reason I decided to go with it. In case of adverse reaction, I could bath it off. I wish I could be more help but at this point it sounds like she may be over the initial reaction and you will just have to monitor her for awhile to be sure. Good Luck.

Thanks Yogi. I will definitely research next time before jumping in... And I'm going to look into Advantix. I like the idea that it can be washed off in the event of an adverse reaction. Thanks for your help.
