Little late replying but I hesitated because dry eye and cataracts are 2 dif. things. I am giving my cocker eye drops--human kind from Walmart---Equate Artificial Tears lubricant eye drops. My dog's eye is so dry that it couldn't be any worse (Vet did the test). My vet had suggested trying that type of product 1st to see if it would help---mainly with the dry irritation---Nothing is going to take this dry eye away. I was to put drops in 4 times a day (every 6ish hrs.) Problem is the stuff is only good for a couple hrs or so. I could go the more expensive way and ---the vets use to mix their own but no longer do for various reasons--So they have to notify a pharmacist and have them mix up the formula. It is pretty expensive the way it sounds. I can't afford too many things but if I had the money I would get that prescription from the pharmacist as it is prob. a lot better--I may have to anyhow if my Max starts acting like he is getting more uncomfortable!
Main reason I didn't post before is that dry eye is bad enough but I think cataracts would be more serious and don't think artificial tears would probably be a good idea! I didn't want to 'lean' you to using Artificial Tears for cataracts! Have you been to the vet? I am too lazy right now and tired of being on the computer all day that I just haven't checked out more to do with cataracts--so know not much right now!! But I think I would talk to your vet to know what to do and what not to do concerning cataracts.
