Default Problem with a Male Pekignese

We are care takers to a male 6 year old Pekignese. His male organ keeps on getting infected. We had to put cream on it twice a day for months until it finally went again. Today to my disappointment a vein burst and is infected again. The Vet keeps on saying keep him away from girls not much can be done!! He bleeds at times and is not a little. The whole bath room gets bloody. One option they gave us one is removing the male organ!!! Not sure what to do. Any help will be appreciated. Let me also add we love him dearly and his problem is hurting me.

Do you want to breed him? Your vet should be able to tell you if this is possible, or if it's not going to happen, he'll be fine if you remove it, better safe than sorry and he'll feel better

Please get the poor boy neutered...There's absolutely no reason not to especially if you have females that aren't spayed...it'll be much healthier for him and if your girls aren't spayed it will prevent them from having unwanted litters...All dogs both male and females should be spayed/neutered unless they're used for breeding and only breeding that is done by responsible, ethical breeders...Not backyard breeders or puppy mills!

My Max had blood coming from his I LOVE DOGS!I LOVE DOGS!I LOVE DOGS!I LOVE DOGS!I LOVE DOGS!--overnight there would be quite a lot of blood soaked in his bed. The vet figured prostrate problems and said neutering would stop the problem and it did!

The I LOVE DOGS 'words' are because I used the word--pen*s! Didn't think that would be a no no!!

Actually the last time I took him in I was told it is not bad enough for removal!!!!!Both females have been spayed and I will Neuter him but I do not think the problem wil go away.

Question

Your words-->One option they gave us one is removing the male organ!!! Are you saying to cut off the whole pen*s??!! Or were you referring to neutering?! I don't see how you could just cut it off--How would he pee?! It sounds rather drastic to me--I sure wouldn't allow that to happen to my dog! Now do I look like a fool or what----I finally had to get that straight--It has bothered me ever since I read your 1st post!!! So please explain.

That is correct removing the whole I LOVE DOGS!I LOVE DOGS!I LOVE DOGS!I LOVE DOGS!I LOVE DOGS!. I am not sure how that would work. He has had one recent episode of bleeding.

I still can't believe that this is done! Maybe you need to see another vet! I would think he would bleed to death for one thing! Where do you live? I know that my Max's prostrate problem and the bleeding were stopped after the neutering and he was bleeding quite a bit too. I so hope you find a solution before you would have it cut off. I'd be afraid my dog would die if such a thing was done! It just doesn't make good sense to me--Sorry!
