Default my dog swallowed a chicken bone

I already talked to the vet er. They said to watch for vomitting, discomfort or diarrhea. It was the small bone on the leg. We saw him with it, don't ask how it happened please, but we couldn't grab it out of his mouth fast enough. My son said the blunter end went first and it was like he vacuumed it into his throat.

Any one have any experience with this? Any advice. I was told not to try and make him throw it up since it could cause more problems than just letting it go through.

Watch and wait I'm afraid. I always endeavour to keep cooked bones away from my dogs but accidents happen. I have often seen stray dogs rustling through bins and running off with a chicken carcass and the next day they are back with no ill effects. Hopefully it will be the same for your dog.
