Bulldog dry nose

My bulldog has a dry nose. I dab his nose with a cream and the crust disappear. After some time the dry nose and the crust is back. This time the cream didn't work, he licked it and he made wound on the nose.
What should I do next?

I supervise him very well right now, this will not heal him.

I hear that Vaseline cream worked for some dogs.

Take him to the vet and Bag Balm works better than Vaseline. It is used for chapped cow udders and would work wonderfully on your dog's nose.

Already been to the vet, insists on old cream.
