Grain Free food lower in protein to help with urine crystals
I'm new to this site so I apologize if this is a well talked about topic. I have a 4 year old female Cocker Spaniel who has allergy issues and recently had higher acidic urine although the vet wanted to just monitor for now since the reading was borderline. I have my Cocker and my 2 year old Golden Retriever on Taste of the Wild Salmon dry dog food and they have been on this for over 2 years and are doing well. Once I got the portion sizes correct their weight is fine; however, I am now trying to find ways to help my Cocker with her higher crystal urine count.
I have read about Cranberry extract and a few others that are out there but wanted to ask if there is a better food, other than going raw, which may be lower in areas that may benefit my Cocker.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
