What do you dislike most about picking up your dog's waste?
Hi Everyone,
I am a graduate student pursing my masters in design, and working on an interesting project. I am in the process of designing a popper scooper that would replace the commonly used plastic bag. My solution is a portable, disposable and discrete popper scooper that would eliminate the disgusting feeling of having to pick up dog waste with a plastic bag. As a dog owner myself, I hate the warm, soft feeling of picking up after my dog with a thin plastic bag. As fellow dog owners, I wanted to know what you most dislike about using the bag to pick up waste? Is it the temperature? The fear or ripping? The awkwardness of having to carry a full bag with you until you find a trash can?
I truly appreciate your feedback, as it's very helpful to get an alternative popper scooper into the marketplace.
So, what do you hate about using a plastic bag to pick up your dogs waste?
Thank you!

Ha Ha, thats funny but I bet you do use scoop shovel with your big dogs. I use the cute powder blue bags with doggie paws on them. I dont mind any thing about picking up after my dogs, the bags work just fine. I just wish my dog wouldnt walk and poop. Ha ha. My dogs are small so therefore their waste is small. But if they were big dogs, I dont think I would be using small thin bags.

Luna is right. Big dogs, big poop. Or as my neighbour stated one day out on our walk, "it's a 2 bagger", or my personal fav. "dino dump"
But as far as carrying the bag around, it's my "badge of honor".
Meaning that I clean up after my dogs, as I wish everyone did.

I don't like the feel of the poop but I do it anyway. I wouldn't spend money on anything to make it easier.

What irritates me to no end is the lack of trash receptacles in my neighbourhood. The ones that actually have a section for "garbage" are few and far between. Most of them are divided into the various recyclable elements; glass, paper, etc.

What I hate is that people pick up the poop (and rightly of course) and then seem to think that that is all they have to do. There is one path where we walk and the bushes are festooned with poo bags. Why????

This is really helpful everyone, I truly appreciate it!
Right now this product is very much in the development phase, and proof-of-concept. Without giving too much away, it's pretty innovative in it's approach. It's a biodegradable structure, that would fit in your pocket. It would break into 2 pieces, one to scoop and one to hold the dog's waste. Then the whole apparatus folds up onto itself and is completely disposable.
If there is anything else to add, I'd love to hear it!

I actually don't dislike anything about it especially because it's my responsibility. What I hate is people that intentionally make their dogs poop outside of the house and leave it where it got dropped.
