Help! My poor Choco Lab has yucky goopy eyes! Every morning they are really goopy......not sealed shut or anything. It kindof reminds me of when my son had pinkeye a couple years ago. Any ideas? I wiped them with a warm washcloth and got them cleaned up, but this is the 4th day. Any suggestions? Vet time?

There's a couple things that can be done. First off the vets usually carry special eye ointment that can be put directly into the eyes and the other thing is simply wash the eyes with sterile cotton balls and saline water (saline is great stuff for minor infections like that)....It might be good to have the dog vet checked. Sometimes goopy eyes might mean something more awful like distemper- hopefully it's nothing that serious and just a little cold bug. Best of luck

We went to the vet on Saturday morning! She was prescribed eye drops (boy those are fun to put in!) She has conjunctivitis! It is already looking so much better! Thank you for your reply!
