I don't mean to change the topic:
speaking of paint, how is Porter doing since the paint ball incident? Is he still nervous of going outside?

He is so terrified that he has started crapping on the back deck. During the day, he he will hurry and run to the tree and hide behind it and do his business and then he will hurry and run back. But at night I can't get him out in the yard at all and he poops on our deck.

He will eventually be ok. He ALMOST forgot he was scared of the yard and almost chased Buster yesterday. I think after a while, he will come to realize that there bad things on our lawn.

What if you spray interesting stuff on the lawn? I think they sell some animals scents for dogs that track?...Maybe getting him to think less and smell more might help ease him into being more curious in the yard.
Anyway, I'm glad he almost forgot and chased Buster. What a cute pair those two must be.

A rolled up newspaper can be an effective training tool when used properly. For instance, use the rolled-up newspaper if your dog chews up something inappropriate or has a housebreaking accident. Bring the dog over to the destroyed object (or mess), then take the rolled-up newspaper and hit yourself over the head as you repeat the phrase,"I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG, I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG!"

I think we have enough interesting stuff on our lawn. I found a dead possum that Buster wouldn't leave alone and I had to wrap him in an old sheet and bury him. WE have rabbits and cats and squirrels and Buster chases every one of them but Porter won't set foot on the grass. WE did show him a can of chicken broth and dumped it in a pan just off of the deck for him. He went out and drug the pan up to the deck so he didn't have to stand on the grass to drink it.

Poor Porter...I'd like to take whoever frightened him so badly and slap them senseless!!! As for Halloween, I keep my girls in once it gets dark and if they need to "go", they use the balcony and I just clean it up. I don't have any human children so, candy being left around isn't an issue.
Some of you will think I'm nuts but, I make up a little bag of toys and treats for each of the girls so they can enjoy the occasion and be safe in their own home.

I would too, but my 2 legged kids already think that I love the 4 legged kids more than them. That would surely send them over the edge. LOL.

LOL I sometimes get asked if I love the dogs more than I love my son but I think he's (son) just looking for validation that he's my #1 even though I baby them all.
