Default Hives

My Whippet Molly who is 1 is constantly coming out in terrible hives. I cannot suss out what is causing them and am so worried. Her eyes puff up and she is covered in lumps all over her head and on her back. It comes up so quick and i have rushed her to the vets who was shocked to see her like it. She had an anti hisamine injection and 2 steriods ones which eventually brought it down. It comes up for no apparent reason and she can be in bed, in the car, indoors and not eaten anything, i am at my whitts end as to what to do.

Wow, sorry to hear this. Few things you might check, are fleas present, mold in your home, dust mites ( maybe try a air cleaner) Try and write a log down daily and read over it. It might be something small that you havent noticed before. My dog eyes water when we cut the lawn in the summer for the first ten mins. then hes fine. But nothing extreme as this. Have you tryed a naturalpath for dogs? I had a friend that had problems with their English Bull dog that had somewhat of the same problems. that they took their dog to. It took some time but their dog got some relief, but its on going care. Good luck.

Yes i have written everything she does beforehand down and sometimes she has done nothing. I deflea regular even though i know they do not have fleas. I have sprayed the house/car for dust mites. The other day i was sat in car talking to someone and she was fine, looked round 10 mins later and her face was horrific. The vet has advised to give her Piriton anti histimine tablets and i have 2 emergency injections ready in case it comes up bad again. Just annoying that i cant find the trigger for this. Its horrible seeing her like it but she is fine in herself and still plays when its all up..bless her.

Did you get her from a breeder, If so have you checked with the breeder to see it any of their other dogs are having this problem. If she was a rescue, maybe you can check with a good breeder that might know something about her and her breed. Just a thought. It sounds like you are researching everything, I hope you find answers soon.
