Default Eye scarring?

!3 days ago I was in the vets checking out an eye problem with my min pin Hunter. Symptons were, couldnt keep his eye open, weeping, swollen, and gray haze on eye. Vet did test, 2 Glaucoma test ( both test showed good presure) dye to see if any Alcer behind eye ( none were found) 13 days on anibiotic, said 14 days. His eye looks good except large grey haze on eye ( vet said scarring) Vet told me he will have little scarring on his eye. this was due to he scratched his eye. My question is? Should I be worried because its day 13 and he has a large scar, not small like the vet said. Will this take more time to disappear, or could this be the result of the scratch to the eye and this is what he will always have? Or should I take him in for a 3 check? Anyone have a similar problem? Thanks for any comfort, mommy worried.

If your vet is not an eye specialist, I would suggest you have your dog seen by one. I am a special needs small dog rescuer and I've rescued more than a few dogs who were abandoned at shelters with severe eye ulcerations as well as bulging, blind eyes that need to be removed due to uncontrolled glaucoma. One of our little rescues had severe ulcerations on both eyes. We took her to an eye specialist and they did a procedure where they anesthetize the eyeball and use a q-tip to remove dead cells to promotes growth of new cells. We saved her vision but she has quite a bit of scarring which looks like cataracts, and it would have been worse had we not taken her to the specialist.
