Default Retained upper canine tooth in puppy fell out

So I noticed about a month ago that her my 7 month old puppy (now 8 months old) had this strange looking 'double-canine' tooth thing going on, and when I did a little research and found out what it was, I made plans to take her to the vet to see about getting them pulled (had to work that night, so I was going to try and make an appt for the next day). I was throwing her frisbee to her when I heard a little 'crack', and when I looked the foam disc knocked one of her baby canines out. On one hand I was relieved, yet on the other, I'm a little worried. I've been keeping it cleaned out by spritzing some warm salt water on it, but it still looks a little bloody (it's been about 11 hours since it's happened), and was worried about it getting infected, ect... She doesn't seem bothered by it, no whining, and she's eating regularly...am I over reacting? Or should I race her to a vet? Has anyone else had something similar happen to them? My fiancee says she's fine, and that it'll heal, but figured maybe I'll calm my anxiety by at least asking someone.

thank you
megan
