We were advised to give our 5-year old, 70 pound German Shepherd a product called Flex-eze (a glousamine (sp?) application packaged for horses). The package dosage is for horses. Does anyone use it for dogs with hip dysplasia and, if so, how much? how often?

I own and compete horses and have feed this regularly(well glousamine)to some of my older boys and girls :-) I think it's pretty safe unsure of the dog side of it but I used to feed the horses a large teaspoon every day so maybe half it or even less for your dog. I am just assuming it's in a power form.
I don't think you could do much damage with it unless you feed your german shepherd a large ammount.
Feeding tips - cuz it taste nasty!!! I often use a syringe and mix it with water with molasses(I'm sure your dog won't like that) but maybe with some beef stock purhaps. If your dog isn't fussy maybe just mix it with food. Good Luck and I hope it improves your dogs life a bit
