Default Dog vaccines

I have had dogs in the past and am now in the process of getting a new puppy from a very reputable breeder. She has informed me that some breeders are no longer giving their dog's vaccinations every year. There is information out that dogs do not need vaccinations beyond their puppy shots. In away it makes sense to me because I know that people don't get regular shots in adulthood. She says that it can be unhealthy for the dog to recieve unnessasary vaccinations. I was just wondering what your opinions were on dog vaciniations. Thanks.

The only shots my Akita gets yearly is his rabies and Distemper....I think anything more is just over kill.

My dog gets rabies, distemper and kennel cough. Actually I believe the rabies is good for 3 years now, at least the one we got is.

I generally follow the vet's guidelines about vaccinating my dog(s). All of my dogs, except one, have come from the pound, and I completely understand the pound requiring shots before allowing a pet to be adopted.
