my dog is a 6 year old female collie cross and is neutered. lately she has had blood in her urine. we have taken her to a vet and everything seems to be normal (kidneys, liver etc). she is going back to the vet for an ultrasound since the xrays and urine tests haven't shown anything. does anyone have any advice/suggestions.

Did the vet rule out a UTI and stones? My aunts dog had a UTI when she had urine in her blood, there were no stones at the time. A few months later she had 108 stones removed from her bladder.

thanks for the reply. the vet thought it was a bladder infection and put my dog on some medication, but that didn't help. they checked for stones and there was nothing.

How much blood was in her urine? I read somewhere that a few spots can be normal for dogs, but obviously a whole lot would indicate some sort of problem..

Has she been showing any signs of illness or discomfort? Are her eating and drinking habits normal? Is she basically acting as she normally would? It is quite odd for the vets to not actually find anything wrong with her.
