I was just wandering Is it essential to have the dogs wormed?

If so how often? whats are the best methods, A vet, tablets or liquid?

Some more info on this would be appreicted.

I think it is very important my puppy has had a dewormer series. I had to take him to the vet 3 times once at 9 weeks then at 12 weeks then at 16 weeks old. I am so glad I did because he happen to have a lot of worms in his digestive system. I recommend getting it done deffinately; my vet told me the majority of puppies carry worms.

But is it neccassery when they are older? As my dog is 6 years old so I just wandered what I should do.
