Default Great dog story

This story popped up again last week for some reason. It's actually a couple of years old but it is really funny and reminds me of Jerry feasting on stones. From goofball.com:

Quote:
LONDON - Vets cut open a German Shepherd dog to find she had scoffed no fewer than 28 golf balls.
Eighteen-month old Libby had been coughing blood after weeks of fetching golf balls at the Manchester course where owner Mike Wardrop works as a bar manager.

Wardrop told Reuters on Friday he hadn't realised the dog had a secret appetite for the dimpled balls she found at Didsbury Golf Club.

"When I take her for a walk every day she is prone to finding golf balls," Wardrop said. "She can fit five in her mouth."

Libby is now recovering from the operation to remove the balls, with 30 stitches across her belly.

"I've had to buy her two footballs," said Wardrop. "She can't swallow them."

28 golf balls!! Good grief. I wonder if the dog laid in wait for the golfers to hit a shot, so she could catch it in her mouth!

On a more serious note though - the dog must have quite a large stomach.

You would be surprised at the different things which dogs pick up and swallow.

My dog has been sick a couple of times, and up popped a 20p piece each time. She seems ok after she has been sick, but it cant be good for her.

Im trying to teach her to find notes, rather than coins!!!
