Describe your dog using 2 words
Pretty simple...
Wrigley - sweet & dirty
Kuma - belly rubs!

A rolled up newspaper can be an effective training tool when used properly. For instance, use the rolled-up newspaper if your dog chews up something inappropriate or has a housebreaking accident. Bring the dog over to the destroyed object (or mess), then take the rolled-up newspaper and hit yourself over the head as you repeat the phrase,"I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG, I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG!"

Porter jumped out my daughter's window and we had to put him in the outside kennel until we got a new window. And then chewed a hole in the door of the kennel and knocked the mailman down and chased him down the street. Porter wasn't being mean. He just wanted to say hi. but he's the same size as the mail man. So we found a new home for him before couldn't escape anymore and get hit by a car or the dog warden picked him up. He lives on a 10 acre mini farm with a pond and horses and chickens and another great pyrenees to play with. And he has an electric fence that keeps him in his new yard. We live too close to the road for him to keep escaping and terrorizing the neighbors. We have also spent a ton of money trying to keep him contained. Porter is a livestock guardian dog and he needed a job. I can't give him a job because we live in city limits and farm animals are prohibited. so I couldn't just run out and get him a goat or a few chickens. The dog warden did commend us how far we went to try to make it work with him. She said that most people would have given up and dumped him at a shelter.

Oh no, I'm sorry. It sounds like you found him a great home. If you hadn't taken him though who knows where he would have ended up. You gave him so much love and finding the perfect home for him was part of that.

That is very true, Cig! You saved him when you rescued him, Luna and you saved him finding him a good home again. How many people would have tried & tried again like you have? Porter was always fortunate having been found by you.

Yeah, sometimes dogs are like people. You love them to death but you just can't live with them. Sometimes finding the right family is best. Some people wonder how I can just "get rid of" a member of my family. But I don't think I did that at all. I think I found a place for him in the middle of nowhere where he won't get out and get hit by a car or chase the post man or jump through anymore windows trying while trying to chase a squirrel. I think we did what was best for him, even though we didn't want him to leave.
