Default Brownie

Brownie was our first family pet when I was a baby. We got him when I was about 2 years old and he lived for 20 years!!! Needless to say we were devastated when we lost him, but so thankful to have had him for so long. He had an awesome personality and an awesome life on 15 acres of property.

He was a one-eyed dog, because something when he was outside got ahold of him. The vets wanted to put him to sleep in the case of rabies, but my mom wouldn't have it. She was the only one around him during that time for a couple of months (he was about 5 then) just in case. Turns out he never had it and lived a long healthy 15 more years.

He was our rock chaser. He would chase only rocks, those were his toys. If you threw one in the river, he would not come up until he found the exact one you threw in there. Actually, that was his favorite place to get rocks even if we didn't throw any to him; he loved water. He'd pull rocks out bigger than his head! lol.

We assume he died of "old age".. he was lucky in that he never got any kind of arthritis. He ran and played up until the last couple of days before he died.

He was a great, great dog. We will never have another one like him.
