Unhappy R.I.P Tyson

I work at a non-profit, no-kill shelter. We had a female boxer that had resided at the shelter. She was our mascot but sadly she passed away. The day she passed away a old lady came in with Sammy Joe's twin only it was a male. They had the same personality and everything. We took him in but never put him up for adoption. The lady resuced Tyson from her neighbors because he was being abused. She didn't have much money so she couldn't buy him from them so she gave what she could. She gave a bar-b-que gill, a patio set and many other things to save his life. Sadley she couldn't care for him due to his size and her age. It was like a gift from god that she saved his life and brought him to us teh same day that our Sammy Joe went to live with god. He was our baby for many years. He had a great dispostion and everybody loved him. One morning we noticed a lump on his stomach so we took him to the vet and she removed it but said that it was cancerous. She said that he should be good for a while since there were no other lumps. She said he should live for a couple more years. He did extreamly well for a week. He was jumping and playing and have a lot of fun. A week later we noticed a major change in him. He was laying around, was sore, and losing weight fast. We took him to the vet but couldn't stay with him because we had to care for the other dogs. A few hours later we got a disaponting call...there was a cancerous tumer in his intestine that was inoperable. We made the difficult choice on putting him to sleep. Tyson had free run of the shelter when he was alive. Occasionaly we catch ourselves looking for him untill we relize that he is no longer her in body. He is here in spirit though. Ty will always stay around the shelter and watch over the only home he has ever known.

I am so sorry for your loss. At least you have the knowledge that Tyson was loved for the time you had him. R.I.P. Tyson and have fun at Rainbow Bridge.
