get over little by little . dog's death can not be neglected just as it's animal. they also have love. treat them like your closed friends all the life.
i am sorry to hear it. like k9lady"If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy."

I am so sorry to hear about this. Our furry friends work their way into our hearts in a way no human being can do, and I believe it is because of the unconditional love they give us.
Just remember that he'll be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge.

Hi Collin
Just remember that you done what was best for your dog! As dog owners we all have a responsibility to do what is right and best for our dogs, and you done the most loving thing you could by not allowing him to suffer. I am proud of you mate, you obviously did the right thing!
Best of luck

I so know how you feel. I put one of my best friends down yesterday. I can't quit crying! He was a 12 year old cocker spaniel. He was attached to my hip. I couldn't go to the bathroom without him waiting outside the door for me. He literally followed me everywhere I went. I miss him so much. I know it's only been a day but I can't imagine how its going to get easier. I also have a little bichon-shitzu who is 10 years old. He really acted different today like he is lost without his buddy. I am not sure how you cope. I just hope my other dog doesn't get too sad. It is so very hard. I think only time can heal.....

Dear Colin and Dextersgirl, I am so sorry for both or your losses.. It is devastating when we lose someone that we love and time and talking about your feeling's is the only real remedy. I made a scrapbook when I lost my last pup.. It helped me to make a memorial for him. I have his picture on my profile page if you want to see him, his name is Snickers AKA boo boo..
Cry when you need to and post when you feel like it. We are here to listen and help you however we can.. Grief is so cruel and can sometime's latch on to us and it's hard to let go without the help of other's...
My Prayer's are with you both and my boo boo is with your pup's,, till we are re-united again..

Thank you for your support. I would have never thought it could be so hard. Last night I took my other dog for a really long walk and just cuddled with him. He seems a little off with my other dog not around. Today when I left for work I put the radio on for him. He must miss him as much as I do.

Hi dextersgirl, It's devastating to lose someone we love, I know.. I have two cocker's at Rainbow Bridge who by now have welcomed your pup and has shown him around.. They are there doing all kind's of fun cocker spaniel thing's together with their renewed health... They watch over us dextersgirl, keep your heart and eye's open and you will see subtle little sign's... They are alway's with us in spirit till we are re-united...

I'm so sorry for what happened. Losing someone you really love is really sad. But don't be so devastated, everything happens for a reason. Your dog is in heaven now for sure.

My dog Lady has cancer
I so understand your feelings; I will have to put Lady down soon and I have told myself that I have given her a good life, rescued her, loved her and took good care of her, but this doesn't work. I am lost. I read the poem, "The Rainbow Bridge" and I can't understand how this can help anyone; it is so very sad, so don't read it, at least right now.
I am new here too and hope to find some help facing this.

Dear Nancy, You and Lady are not alone. We are here with you both and will help you as best as we can. During this stage of Lady's life I know there is nothing I can say that will make it any easier for you because we love them so much and just don't want to lose them.
I don't know Lady's condition Nancy, but she will let you know when it is time to release her from her earthly body. It will be hell on earth for you Nancy but it is the final act of love that we give them...
You have given her a good life, loved her, rescued her and took good care of her. Lady is one of the very lucky one's Nancy and her spirit will remain with you until your time on earth is done and you meet again... Love does'nt die......
Cry, scream or yell or whatever you have to do, anyone who has lost a loved one be it animal or human know what you are feeling now and we are here for you..

today is a very sad day
Thank you so very much; it is good to know there are wonderful people out there who you can be honest with. I just don't know how I can take her in and have her put to sleep; maybe by then I will have adjusted to this more.

My candolances. My shep is 9 now and starting to show her age. I am not looking forward to that day. It is very hard to deal with the passing of a great friend, but to help you through it remember all the happy times. Chin up!

Sorry for your loss.
I know how it feels, I have lost 4, and it is never easy. You literally feel like your heart was run over by a mack truck. I take comfort in knowing I have not seen the last of my babies. They are up on Rainbow Bridge running and playing with the rest of the pets up there just waiting for the day when I will be there to meet them...what a wonderful reunion that will be!!
Every day get a tiny bit easier...just take one day at a time and know everyone grieves differently and at their own pace.

I also had to put down my best friend Fri 9-4-09. Jasmine had been with us for 14 years and the grief has been overwhelming for me. I can't eat nor sleep nor do any of the things we did together. I even dream about her and have not be known to remember dreams. I've never experienced anything like this before in my life.
