Default memory of amore

my puppy got ran over by a car in font of me. he was only 19 months old. he was the best. he was my bestfriend. he would sleep onder the covers with me and when my alarm would go off he would look at me and go back to sleep. he knew when i was coming home. i would hear him barking from the frist floor. we would get sad when i would leave. he was the smartest do gi ever know. i just cant belive he is gone and i cant get over myself for not having him on the leash. now we have a new dog and is it bad that i want the new one to live up to amores expectations? i would always say "oh amore would do that" or " i wish misiu could do what amore did".i call the new puppy amore somtimes and i cant get his picture out of my head. i just dont know what to do. i will never find a more loving dog. he adored me, and i adored him. he would go everywhere with me. i just dont know what to do with myself. should i cremate him or bury him? any adivce would help me out alot with coping with him

RIP BABY AMORE 04*08*2008--10*31*2009

Sorry to hear of your Amore's death. Very sad, and it has only been 3 weeks so you are still grieving. It is good that you have another puppy but it is so soon after the other dog that you can only 'see' Amore. In time you will give your new puppy the love it deserves and be able to see it as an individual with it's own personality and it will grow on you more and more every day---It may never do all the things (exactly the same way) Amore did but it shouldn't have to! It will do things that will be different but I'm sure you will start to love him for the individual that he is and be happy with him for who he is! Just please try to 'see' him and pay attention to his needs so that he can have the chance to show you. You will be a big part as to how his character develops so please show him you care about him so he can develop!! Give the little guy a chance---He hasn't even had time hardly to get use to his new environment yet!--Let alone try to take another dog's place in your heart. Takes time to build character too. I'd love to hear about this new pup! What breed is it? How old? Where did you get him? Keep us posted--Always glad to hear about puppys! Have any pics to show?!

misiu09,

I am so sorry for your loss. Your heart will soon know that Amore is at The Rainbow Bridge, freel to play and run with all the other furbabies there.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. Losing a fur child is a kind of pain that only other parents truly understand. It really doesn't matter what you do with his remains. His spirit has moved on. Know that he is whole and happy and that one day, you'll meet again.

As for the new dog, he will never replace the one you lost. The new one is a unique individual just as your former dog was. If you give this new dog a chance, he will carve his very own place in your heart.
