Default My Lady

About ten years ago we came across a scared dog hiding under a car. She had slightly injured her left paw and was startled by the traffic. She had no collar, and after taking her to a shelter to be looked at, they couldn't find any record of owners, so we adopted her.

She lived with us for many happy years after that. She was a very well behaved dog, as gentle as can be. We would take her for walks by the chip shop so that she could eat the left over chips! She seemed to be very fond of them.

But then she became very quiet and stopped getting up to greet us. We took her to the vets to have her checked over and discovered she had cancer, thus we had to euthanize her..

She was such an immensly friendly and gentle dog, I still miss her.

I really feel sorry for you cause it must have felt quite harsh. I remember my uncle having a black Doberman who had to be euthanised for the same reason. When some relative dies of cancer we feel bad but in these cases when we have to make these poor creatures depart forcefully from our lives its nothing but terrible.
I would advice you to try and remember the good memories that you had of her as they are better things to cherish than this incident.

What a story! You gave your dog a great loving and happy home that she deserved. I am sorry this happened to you and your dog. That is one of the hardest things to do. You did the best thing you could do for her and that takes a lot of courage.

That's so sad, but it's good that you rescued her and gave her love.

Very sad. I'm sorry; she sounds like she was a lovely dog.
