Hello guys! This November or December I will be getting a new dog. A female Lhasa Apso to be the companion/wife/girlfriend of my male Lhasa Apso. My dog's name is Emperor To Fi. To Fi = Toffee..because of his color. So I'm thinking of naming her Empress but it's too generic. Can you please suggest a name?

We also have a dog named Prince. Our previous dog's names were Dutch and Princess.

I would suggest Lady, but I must say that a dogs name is something I think the owners should choose as it needs to be special to them. We waited for a few days to see what kind of character she showed so don't feel you need to make a decision yet.
Try finding out her pedigree name to see if any name springs to mind.

Hi, doggerbank. I agree with Lassie but if you really want to have a list now, there are really lots of places to get it from not just here on the internet. How about a certain character in the latest book you've read or scene in a movie you've just seen which reminds you of something sweet or funny.

What about Contessa?

I have always thought that Eliza is a good female name.

It is important to use a dog name that conveys the proper image. The dog name you choose says as much about you as it does about your dog. It shows how you view your dog and your relationship with it. As a suggestion, I prefer to name your female dog Princess. That's my choice.

I like Contessa, nice and unique!

How about MISSY?
I always liked that for a female dog...which is why I named my foxhound MISSY
