name of my dog/should I change it
I have adopted a dog from one of my daughters, its a good size dog labX male and very sweet and cuddly. She had named him Snuggles which seems to suit him. I have so many names I would have picked instead but I am happy to keep his name as he is used to is and hard to rhyme it with something else. What do you think, should I change it, one of my sons says its a stupid name:twisted:

I don't see why you couldn't change it, a friend of mine adopted a 2 year old dog from the pound that was found as a stray, the pound was calling him shadow, my friend changed his name to Marley {that was many years ago way before the book} My son also adopted a 1 1/2 year old dog, and changed her name from amelia, to Luna. They both took to their new names just fine.

I definately thing you could cahnge the name. I changed one of my dog's names. He was 1 1/2 yrs when I got him. His name was Buddy & I changed it to Spike. As long as you are consistent with what you call him, there shouldn't be a problem.

If you want to rename the dog, then do it. If the dog was your daughters, and you two are close, she might be offended if she learns that you changed the dog's name.

AWWWW, let him keep his name!!!! I sounds as though it suits him....you also might be buying into trouble if you changed it anyway. Good luck.

I got my dog from the pound and her name was Missey but I changed it to Sydney because she is part Australian Cattle dog.
Snuggles is a cute name I think. Keep it if you want.

8 years ago, we took in a stray JRT. We had him for 6 or 7 weeks before we found his true owners. But in that time, we had no clue what his name was, so we called him Buddy. After we found the owners we found out his real name is Max. Years later, when we saw Max, I would say, Hey, Buddy how's my pal? Man, would he run circles around me soooo happy! We have Buddy's baby, now 7 years old, and although her name was supposed to be B.B. short for Buddy's Baby, it of course, became Baby.
Poor Max is gone now, but he will always, be my Buddy!!!

We had a large collie and named her cuddles because of the same reason, I would keep it.

Either one is fine. We got our dog from the SPCA when she was a year old, they called her precious and I didn't like the name, so we changed it to Azalea and she caught on pretty fast especially when we called her by her name and gave her a treat when she responded.
But if you like the name I say keep it.
