Default New basset puppy in May or June...

I'm getting a female basset puppy in May/June from a reputable breeder, and I've been tossing around a few good names. Since bassets seem to have silly personalities, I would like a name for her that will sound kind of clumsy, and old-lady-like.

Here are the names I've been tossing around so far:

Petunia (so far, this is my favorite)
Olga
Lola
Lulu
Gertie (for Gertrude)
Henrietta
Maybelline (the dam's name is Maybelle)
Thelma
Petula
Edie
Dorothy
Dolores
Bonita
Rita
Nadine

So far, I'm leaning toward Petunia, Gertie, Nadine, Rita, or Thelma. These seem to be changing on a daily basis, however. Anyway, which one of these do you like the most?

Default Welcome...

Let me be the first to welcome you to the wonderful life of being owned by a basset! My baby is 6mth old. Before I got him I had a female, sadly she had a lot of health problems through out her short life and had to leave me. My boys name Tsavo and my female was named Buffette but we called her Bubbers. I hope you enjoy your baby and I think you should really wait till your little girl comes home to settle on a name. These guys are so comical and quirky and FULL of personality that she will practically name herself for you.
