That would be a Mutt, or sometimes called "All Amercian," in polite circles.

I think you would call that a "pain in the butt" spaz.

This is a mutt... just like Goldiepoos and labradoodles... they are just mutts, too. You will not find them listed with the CAnadian or American kennel Club breed listings because they are not purebred breeds. You might want to research both the Beagle and the Jack Russel, and see if they have traits you might like. Chances are, a cross will have some traits from both those breeds. Both of those breeds can be fairly challenging... Beagles tend to not come home if they manage to get out of the yard, and the jack, being a terrier, is very stubborn and tenacious, with a very big mind of his own.Good luck in finding the perfect dog for you!oh, I see that Peculiar has just told you the very same thing... I should read all the answers before posting!! Good answer, Peculiar!

Thumbs up Jack-A-Bee

The name of the Jack Russell/Beagle mix is called a Jack-A-Bee. I have one that was given to me by a friend and she is absolutely the best dog I have ever had. If you do any type of research on these dogs then you will find out that the owners absolutely love them. The only problem that I have with her is not even her fault. It's the year-round shedding that's makes for a constant headache for me being a neat freak.

i also have a jack russel crossed with a beagle and altho she is the biggest pain in the butt to keep in the yard she is still the best dog ive had she is protective loving and affectionate to all , unless she feels they shouldnt be near her of our property.

the only problem you will have is keeping it in the yard, my partner has put a tower of car tyres at least 10 tyres high and everynight without fail she scales the tyres to get out the front and does it with ease.....mind you shes about 11 now so shes doing pretty good for an old girl....
anyways goodluck with dog and enjoy....

Name him more personally, like on what the mess he's doing or great things you can't forget about him.

They aren't called anything except mutts or mixed breeds. That's all they are ya know?

Don't fall into the BS of giving your mutt a cutsie designer name because you can't admit it's simply a mutt. If you want something that actually IS a breed then get a purebred. That simple.

In the mean time, don't spend alot on your mix. There are plenty in shelters for alot less than these byb's are selling them for. If you buy it off of someone you are only enabling them to mix breeds again and make more mutts.

I saw somewhere that a hybrid is a dog from two different pure breed dogs. A mutt is anything else that is not a purebred or a hybrid.

The definition of hybrid is simply a combination of two different things. Thirty years ago a dog with parents of differing would have been called a mongrel or a mutt. The use of the word "Hybrid" to describe a dog that is not pure bred is simply a marketing ploy.

A mutt is a mix of any number of breeds. A hybrid is not a purebred, therefore it is a mutt. People just like to give the mutts they breed a cute fancy name and sell them at outrageous prices in order to fill their wallet and take advantage of other people's ignorance about purebred dogs and mutts.
