yeah an extra 10bhp is worth it for your dog, it must be a lot quicker on runs in the park now

Everyone in my area knows my dog so getting him chipped isn't necessary... I guess if you live in a built up area or a large town it could be quite a good idea... it must be heart breaking to lose a dog and not know if it has been injured or not.

chipping is one of those things you may pat yourself on the back later for doing. it's always better to be safe than sorry, and you would definately be sorry if you're pet was lost forever and you could have prevented itGOOD CHOICE

Depending on where you live, you still have to get your dog licensed. Microchipping is a great idea. We should microchip our kids, maybe there would be fewer missing kids in this world.

I asked the vet if they check every dog that comes into the office. She said no only if they are asked. So I decided if someone decided to keep my dogs and take them to the vet--I wouldn't get them back. She agreed that Most dogs are found by other people not the animal dept in your city. So I make sure they have the best yard and house to stay in. And collars with tags. Our vet is starting to consider secretly checking all dogs...no matter who the person is that brings them in. She and her office staff says I gave them something to talk to other vets and animal depts. about. Discuss this possibly with your vet. All it takes is someone to decide to keep your dog and then later maybe take him to a vet for shots or whatever. Then they go on record there as the owner. I understand I am still risking losing the dogs no matter what I do or don't do.

Its a great idea. I got my great dane Henry chipped, like you said it brings peace of mind. I love the name you choose for her, very chic and elegant. I am sorry that I am unable to help you with the picture advise. I am sure someone on here will be able to explain it to you. Be nice to see her. Good luck.

It's an excellant idea. I just booked my puppy in today. Everyone in my neighbourhood knows my puppy too as she's the only Bichon Frise around here but I wouldn't take a chance. What if she wandered out without me realising and managed to get out of the neighbourhood? Or some passerby who didn't know me took her to the pound? I plan to take my puppy on day trips to the coast with us regularly after she's had her shots and there's nothing to say she wouldn't run off or something like that, so she really needs to be chipped.

I own a Dachshund and she is chipped. She had a litter of puppies almost two year ago and right before they went to their new homes I had them all chipped as well. Their chips are all registered to me and their owners are aware of it. I made the decision to breed a litter and felt that I should always care for them in some way should they ever get lost or abondoned. I think it is one of the best things and would recommend it to anyone.
