can some one name the largest dog of the world and its location?

my friend's great dane..she stands at 6' 6" on his hind legs!! but she's a good obedient dog.

This rather depends if you mean tall, or big in bulk. The Great Dane stands the tallest and sometimes is the height of a small pony. These regal handsome dogs can be tan with black around the eyes, or brindled in colour, either way they are beautiful.They have very affectionate characters, and despite being so big, want to climb on their owners laps. They also love lounging on the couch, their limbs take strain and they do not live as long as the other smaller breeds.The prize in bulk goes to the St Bernard which is a mountain rescue dog, and can stand waist high, and has that big shagg pile coat to keep him warm in the mountain snows, he is often depicted carrying a small flask of brandy round his neck to take to those who are caught in snow storms. Switzerland uses this dog as an emblem. Then the Terranuova about the size of a St Bernard or bigger, with a thick long black coat , these are also rescue dogs, and can dive in to a lake or river to save a drowning person, and will with their strength, drag the person to safety.The French mastiff or bull mastiff is also large with a huge head.

My freinds dog, Chupacabra. Hes spooky. 200lb or so.(not really the biggest)and my setter has the biggest heart!

I'm sure there are several ways to classify the size of an animal, tall, weight, length, etc. But according to Guinness Record book, Gibson is the tallest dog in the world.

Gibson, a Great Dane, and is over 7'1" (he's taller then Shaqulle O'Neal, the basketball player) on his hind legs and was on the Oprah show yesterday. He was great, very mild mannered, even when they brought on the tiniest dog. Brandi, the smallest dog, was a chiqaqua (sp?) who just stood there and shivered.

Gibson, the tallest dog, lives in California.

My question is how did they swing Gibson getting 2 seats on an airplane in coach, not crated in the luggage area. They showed him sitting in his seat, it was really kind of cute. I guess it's another case of not who, or what, you are, but who you know.
