I work with various rescue groups and at times they run out of names and ask me to name them. Here's what I do, I like human names so I usually try that first, I look at the dog, learn his personality and name accordingly, IE Henny, Mandy, Chuck, Kelsey, Kelly, Frankie, Stanley, if I can't come up with name like that, I go for the Greek and roman names and find one because of meaning. Just named the last dog Alecto-walker in the mist, punisher of the unfaithful. I avoid names like: Max, Sam, Bear, Rocky, Buddy, Fluffy, Oreo, Shadow, these are common and do not give the dog uniqueness.
