Default Is It Wise To Try To Change A Dogs Name?

I'm getting a 9 month old male beagle from a family who can't keep it anymore. Anyway apparently the dog has a name, I was wondering if would be wise and or possible to try to change his name?

He'll probably be confused for a while, but he'll get used to it!

ooo,, make sure you want this dog... is he neutered?? that will cost you money if he is not... also, beagles are hunting dogs and are not easily trained to be housepets.

It will be alright, considering he is young, but it will be extremely hard and confusing to get him to realize. Maybe if you keep it almost the same it will be easier.
