Default Is there a name for dogs who can sense illness in humans please??

Our family dog behaved really strange during my illness, since i have been diagnosed and cured, our dog is back to his usual self, just wondered if this is normal and if there is a name for this sort of behavior, basically he was always at my side constantly both during my illness and my recovery - though now he is happy to go around doing his own thing, looking back it was really nice and he should and will be rewarded for his loyalty to me.

im not sure what the name is but ive had some recent surgeries and both of my dogs could tell something was wrong..the older dog wouldnt leave my side when i returned home....he wouldnt eat or drink while I was in the hospital for 4 days either..my daughter pretty much had to hand feed him and make him drink water...i dont know if they can sense it or can just gauge how our attitude changes..

I think they have a 6th sense, although I don't know the name of it. I suppose it's a kind of Extra Sensory Perception (ESP).Dogs also know if you are injured - my Dalmation and Weimerana both know instantly if I've cut myself, or if I have a sore back/shoulder etc....they come over and sniff the 'poorly ' area! In the case of cuts they lick the cut area and look sorrowfully at me.

Your in good Paws", K-9's have not only got a 3rd eye, they do sense masters pain, they infact can tell if a subject is not well, upset, tired etc, they are very protective of their owners & they worry bout where you are all day, it has been proven that people who own & live with dogs are very rarely sick, so to you my friend, I would say the name of this behavior is love & respect! If you do get sick, more than likely your gonna spend time nursing an upset Dog round tha clock! ie: Dog Virus, Hey it happens! Remember this, Dogs dont forget! He or Shes reward is that your oks!
