My family dog is a miniature schnauzer called Ruaidhri (pronounced Roory). The name was suggested by one of my aunties and my mum liked it so thats what hes called, not really a great story but thats what happened. The spelling is Gaelic, i think, as is my name again there isnt really a story for this except we are Scottish, I guess thats a good enough reason.Is there a story to go with the names of your dog and soon to be dog? "Frodo" as in Baggins and Amelie as in the film with Audry Tautou?

My rule: two syllables ending on a long vowel. (e.g. Heidi, Emma) This makes it easy for the dog to learn their name, yet avoids confusion with sounds in other words.

My shih-Tzu is named BOOBOO. He reminds us of the little bear in Yogi Bear.

hi i have a 4 month soon to be 5 month old male shih tzu i named him charlie i dont really know why i called him that i guess because when i first looked at him he looked like a charlie to me and it sorta just stuck so the name seemed to fit right in with him.

We have 2 dogs. Our female is 7 years old, and she is a Rottweiller/ Black Lab mix. We got her at 6 weeks and she was the runt. The grunts she made sounded like a baby pig, so she was named Pig. Our male is 3/4 Husky and 1/4 wolf. He was a year old and already named when we got him. His name is Roscoe.

I have a Golden Lab called Luna.It means moon in spanish and she has this name because we (me and my boyfriend) found her in a park when we were taking a walk in the moonlight, someone had dumped her there and she was only a few weeks old. Thankfully, weve had her for nearly 2 years now and she fit as a fiddle!!

Rex was 19 he was a german sheppard cross border collie he passed in 1994. we dont know where he got his name from but he had it when my mum rescued him from a woman who was going to have him put down because her husband was crule to him.Trudy was 8 she was a border colie he passed in 2002. she was orriganaly brought for a friend who wanted a dog but because she peed on the carpet they brought her back so we kept her and the name that they gave her.Benjamin william Franklin was 10 he was a border collie he passed in 2004. He looked like a big cuddely fluffy bear and it suited him.Jessica ann louise is 5 she is a border collie. do not know where her name came from but it suites her.Dukeus James is 2 he is a german sheppard cross german sheppard. its a silly name but it suites him as he is a silly dog

I have a toy min pin named Kitty. lol. I've always loved that name. I have no reason for it but I always thought it was cute. And the really funny part is that she responds to it so well. You just holler Kitty and she comes running. It's really cute.

I got a big dog from the pound, and named him Hercules.
I found a black and white dog beside the road, and named her Domino.
My husband got me a shih tzu, and I named him Wookie.
I have a Beagle and a Terrier that retained their names from their last home, they are Jack and Sandy Sue. Back home with my parents, the dog I grew up with is still alive at age 15. He's a toy poodle named Dude. lol

Our puppy's name is Tanner. We've had him for 5 weeks now, he's about 12 weeks old. My b/f came up with the name cause our puppy sort of has a tan colour on him. Not that original but I instantly liked it.

Most of my dogs came with a name but the one that didn't is named Atticus. He is named for Atticus Finch in To Kill A Mockingbird. I thought he should have a southern name because he is a Black Mouth Cur which is a southern breed.

we have 2 mixes (lab/bc/cur/collie/shepherd?) ruby (toonsday) and snoopy (diamond in the ruff)!
