Default Adopted dog name translation - Spanish speakers needed!!!

I adopted a dog this week. He's a rescued stray from Puerto Rico through the "Save a Sato" program. You can tell he had a home before he was a stray. He's very attached to me after only three days, and he loves people and is very good with dogs. He just had a rough spot for a bit, and luckily he found me!

Okay, now to the question. He came with the name Lucas, but he doesn't really respond to it. Last night while goofing around with a friend and realizing the markings were somewhat similar to the RCA dog, I thought "maybe his name is Spot!" I translated the word to Spanish by itself and it came out as Punto. He responded by wagging his tail and perking his ears!

However, that word also translates to point or dot. I don't remember a single spot of Spanish (har har), so I need some assistance. I'd like to find out if there are any other words I can try that might be a better translation. He responds to Punto but maybe just because it's "close".

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Thumbs up the name means

Hi, my in laws are Puerto Rican, try saying it like it is spelled, not the way you would say uuuhhh, but say u (you), IT would be like saying Pinto but instead Puuntho, witht he h silent of course. I think that might be it. My oldest dog is used to spanish, Her name is Pulga, (flea) don't ask. She looked like a flea, they named her not me. LOL The dog will respond to some words like this: Meta Met-aaaa, or Bentaaaa, (Come) I am not sure with a m or b but my dog responds to my husband and comes runnin! And Vomenose or however you spell that means lets go. Domah is (take this) These are the words my pek-chi is used to it, my mother in law lives next door now and still speaks it. She also calls my dogs Pulgita, which is just with ita on the end, means baby
