Name that goes with Winston?
Hello all!
I currently have an 8 month old Maltese named Winston. I just adore him and the name! On Sunday, I will be getting a 9 month old male Pomeranian mix who is currently named Boo-boo. I just can't see myself calling a dog Boo-boo (no offense to anyone!) and am trying to think of a name that the new dog will listen to (something like boo-boo???) and a name that fits with Winston. The Pom has pom hair, very fuzzy and all white. Short, around 8lbs. Very hyper. My fiance and I love regal, strong names like Winston. All suggestions would be great!!
Thanks in advance!

Yes Boo-Boo is not good. You don't need a name to sound like Boo-Boo. He will forget the other very soon. Here are my suggestions:
Salem
Raleigh
Wiggles (knew a Yorkie named that, very cute)
Wally
Walter
Wrangler

Oh Nigel and Wrangler are good names.
Wyatt and Marshall are on the top of our lists right now.
We are getting the puppy tomorrow, so hopefully after being around him for a bit we will think of something.
Thanks for your help!

Reverse the name Winston. That's a good idea, lol! By doing that, you can come up with names like: Stonwin, Tonwins, Notsniw

It is best if both names to not begin with the same sound. Dogs generally only pay attention to the first syllable in a word.. that is why commands are short... for example, Sit and not "Sit down please". So, choosing a name that is different is best... no "W"s. ! Or any names that begin or rhyme with "win"

Wrigley is a cute name for a dog. So what's the inspiration behind that name?

No story behind the name Wrigley (We don't love the gum! )
We thought he looked like a Riley and we liked the idea of both dogs having a name that begins with W and Wrigley just popped up. We live in WI are Brewer fans but live close to Il by Wrigley Stadium for the Cubs. I think that is why the name sounds familiar.
Sad story though, the dog is no longer with us. He attacked me one night. I was putting on his leash and he decided to bite my hand and then my foot. About an hour later he tried to do the same to my fiance. Like posted earlier, we have a 5.8 lb Maltese and could have really gotten hurt plus we have 8 nieces and nephrews that are always over. We gave the dog to a couple that lives on farm-type land where he is the only pet and will be able to run. It was a very sad weekend, but I think it worked out for the best. I couldn't take the chance that Wrigley would leave a scar on my other dog or family members like he did on me.
He was 10 months old and I'm not sure of his previous history.
We were heartbroken.

winstonsmama, I am so sorry to hear that pup did all that. He must have had a very rough puppyhood.
glad he is on a farm. are you able to visit him or check to see if he is getting better?
I believe you did the right thing. perhaps there's another pup that is more suitable for you, family, and malti down the road.
thanks for posting though.

Awww! That is so sad! I'm really sorry things didn't work out for you. At least you did the right thing, and found him a good home where he might have a chance to get better. Poor guy, he must have had it rough as a puppy.

That is sad. I hate it when dogs are like that. You so much want to help them, but you can't.
