Default Puppy name

Our Golden Retriever puppy is named Belle, which means beautiful. Our daughter (3) wanted to call her A Girl, and we wanted to encourage her creativity and independence, however, we were not sold on A Girl. We got a book of names and went over them. It was narrowed down to A Girl, Belle, because she is beautiful, or Honey, as in Pooh Bears favorite treat, and her coat is honey colored. Eventually she chose Belle. Everyone is happy with it.

Smile Casper

You know, like the friendly ghost! I just got my beautiful male white mini-schnauzer this weekend and the foster mommy we got him from had rescued him from a kill shelter and named him Clark, which I definitely was not going to keep. I decided to wait for a name to come to be instead of trying to choose something clever. Well, Sunday morning he disappeared on me for about 15 minutes when I let him out outside to potty. Come to find out, he discoverd a hole in the fence. After nearly having a heart attack while running around the neighborhood looking for him, I return home and he greets me at the door! Right then I called him ghost! Then later that day, I was just noticing how affectionate and sweet he was, and I say the movie Casper on my movie line up TV Guide and it clicked! Casper the friendly Ghost! Anyhoo it, that's what it means to me and it seems to fit him. Does the name have any other meaning to it? Thanks!

Default What goes with Zoe?

We have a little doll Shih Tzu that we have named ZOE however I will soon need to think up something else to go with that for her "AKC" papers name (not sure why) But rather than using my first name I would rather use the family name i.e Davis'... Zoe... If you would like to see a picture of Zoe she is on my Pet page on my RE website, jmteam.com. So if you all can think of something to go with that I would love to hear any suggestions.
Thank you

Default Her name says it all

I liked several possibilities for my new pom puppy until I looked up the meaning of "Trixie". Short for Beatrix, it means "bringer of joy" That did it for me.

Default Hi Dianlb

Hi dianlb, I am from KC as well. I just joined the forum today.
My dogs I breed have been mostly 'themes' or dogs I have purchased from other breeders also have named some of theirs with themes. So, do not have any special meaning persay. I let a friend of mine use my import from NZ for stud (free as I am getting a puppy back out of the litter) I wanted to go with a NZ or or Austalian theme of famous racehorses of there in the old days, but she has decided to go with luxury import car names, (since he is an import). They are due this weekend. I am soo excited, as this will be Ben's first litter, although he has been in the states for several years. He is 7, I imported him at 4 yrs of age, so has been in the states for 3 years. I breed VERY VERY responibly and SCREEN SCREEN SCREEN buyers. So basically as a dog show person, we use our kennel name first in the Registered name then name them a 'call' name..I ie...Ch. Shore View's Watchkeeper is named Tic Toc...lol his breeder had bred with the Keeper theme, as that dam's call name had Keeper in her litter
Then his daughters litter carried a clock theme sinse he was named watchkeeper. Such as "Champion Sagir's Keeps on Ticking" .....lol So, basically that is how I do it...lol
