Here's my pets names, and what they mean.
The dogs:
Asha - means 'Hope' in Sanskrit, or 'Life' in Arabic. Both are apt as she came from a bad background and I gave her second chance.
Elliot - means 'High Offering' with English origins.
The cats:
Finn - means 'Fair' in Irish
Riley - means 'Valiant' in Irish
Mackenzie - means 'Handsome Son' in Irish
Theo - means 'Untamed' with French origins

I am about to adopt a female yorkiepoo puppy. She was born on my late father's birthday. I would like to name her something equivalent to lucky or special or something in that category. Any and all suggestions greatly appreciated.

Dog Name
I know this post was from ages ago but I wondered if you could help. I am looking for an unusal name that means special basically! Our puppy was born in a litter of three and sadly the other two puppies died so I think he deserves a special name!
DO you have any ideas?
Thank you

thats cool my dogs have names with meanings too.
And little did we know how fitting our poodles name would be for him.
His name is Zachary Trouble.
Basically his names mean: God Remembers your Trouble
and he has had a rough go from day one. He had to fight to be born. He almost wasn't and his brother was still born.
He has had some real bad tummy issues but he is just a happy dog and he is a real tough little guy. God really is looking out for him and really does remember him in his times of trouble.
We are just so thankful for everyday we have with him, he saved my grandfathers life, and he touches every life he meets. Here is the funny thing he is only a year old. And he has already lived so much. He may never have a long life (like most poodles) but I don't think any dog will ever have a life as full as he already has.
(Zachary: (form of Zachariah: God Remembers)
Sasha Princess is our other dog. (She got the middle name Princess in honor of a wonderful dog I lost years ago.
Sasha is a pet form of the name Alexander
so Sasha means: Defender of Men
(Well she is real scaredy dog but she sure is a defender of Mommy......she is real protective of me)
I want to name my next female dog Ziva
Ziva means: Bright/Radient in hebrew

Hi! Just put in my browser--(actually can"t remember the words) But one person had posted the word Jala or can be spelled Jayla----means Special One----I don't know if your dog is a female or not but for what this person said on it--that is a girl's name--an African name---Personally I think it would work for a dog--male or female. Also here is a website that will give you more of what you are looking for and it also lists many more web sites you can use for finding the right name for your "special" dog! Happy hunting!
All About Names - WikiName Find under web results the heading (title)--All About Names-WikiName Don't know what kind of browser you use--mine is Internet Explorer--and this heading is the 1st one on mine. This site will also give you a large listing of more web site addresses for you to click on for more name meanings--(at the bottom of the page you should now be on.) Let us all know what name you find!!!
