My little guys name is Lucky. When I adopted him, he had been abused, and the pound had renamed him Lorenzo. I tried to call him Lorenzo, but he Knew his name was Lucky. My pug's former owner named her Harley. He owns a motorcycle shop and I assume her name derives from Harley Davidson. I added Quinn to add my own twist to her name. I also love the character from Batman...

Hi I am new here My puppy's name is Sam short for Samantha I just recently rescued her from an animal shelter, shes an 8 week old Border Collie Mix. The shelter had named her Tweek, when I went to pick her up she did not look like a Tweek at all lol..When I first layed my eyes on her I said she's a Samantha because she's such a sweet puppy and I think Samantha sounds like a sweet name for such a sweet puppy

Lunchbox (because she eats whatever - a stress reaction - still working on this)

Squirrel call I make with my mouth and fist. She's trained to come when she sees my rifle raise, but if we're hunting, I don't want to use words. She therefore answers to a squirrel call.

I named my Jack Russell, Murphy. Murphy is a Irish name meaning sea-warrior. According to legend the Murphy family are the descendants of Heremon and his brother Heber, the ancestors of all of Ireland's ancient Kings. While the name Murphy may mean "sea warrior", pirate isn't too far off the mark. Murphy is usually a surname, but I'm using it as his first name. The name actually came to me from the movie "Robo Cop" Anyone remember that flick? Anyway my dog just looks plain "Murphy" to me. I sometimes call him "Murph".

Actually, my parents named our dogs from the past till now, in exact order of birth:

Shadow (black labrador retriever, passed away)
- it means he's black like a shadow
Spike (bloodhound, 10 years old and counting)
- I really don't know the reason but the name is so cool
Skip (dobermann pinscher, passed away)
- He likes to skip at anything, especially visitors
Sweet (maltise, 4 or 5 years old and counting)
- She should be named as Snow, but my mom don't like it. She's so sweet-looking
Sutay (mixed maltise and shih tzu, 3 to 4 years old and counting)
- I don't know why but her name is kinda funny for all of us
Sitoy (same with Sutay)
- Same thing with Sutay too
Shok (same with Sutay and Sitoy, passed away)
- His looks are pretty shocking and handsome furry dog
Siomai (same as well, passed away)
- Her name comes from a delicious food called "siomai".
Scooby (same as well, passed away)
- He looks like a naughty dog like Scooby Doo.
Maligno (the "I don't know" breed, not yet reached 1 year old and still counting)
- He's the first ever dog in our family that didn't start with letter "S". Maligno means he has "scary" looks.

If I have my own golden labrador retriever, I will be the one to give him or her a name.

That's because I named my dogs,

Creamy - A Toy poodle with a sort of Cream color
Yorky - A Yorkshire Terrier

I'll definitely be creative in naming my future dog, hope that's soon..

Tuskar - My Boston is a big personality so I figured he needed a big name, a Tusker is an african bull elephant, I just changed a letter... because I could, no better reason!

Vodou - the Dahomey (what is now Benin in africa) word for 'spirit'. Xoloitzcuintle's have a lot of mythology behind them being such an ancient breed, the main thing being the fact that the aztecs believed if you were buried with one of these dogs it would guide your soul into the afterlife They are ana mazing breed and he is so cheeky and loveable!

We named our dog Rudy from the movie "Rudy" ...he was the smallest dog in the litter and its funny because now he is stocky and just a tad overweight...but he is working on it!
