A lot of people like to name their dogs with something relevant to their work or stature or an aspect of their character but I quite like to do the opposite LOL. I once had a smooth coated, extremely nervous Jack Russell that I called Yeti and the one I have now who is about 9 inches tall is called Manny after the mammoth in the Ice Age movies.
I think it is rebel streak in me but if I had a puppy that was going to grow into a big rough tough hound like yours I would have a bit of fun with the name and call him something cute or funny - Titch? Cuddles? or what about some sort of human name - George? Alan?

Buster is a good name. If he's anything like his namesake (Luna's St. Bernard), you'll never experience a dull moment!!!

Although there are times where I would rather have dull moments.

Call him "yoube"
My dad named our dog when I was a little kid - "YouBe".
It was short for "you be good"
