Help with name for new pup!
I am about to get a puppy, either a golden retriever or a chocolate lab, and I am looking for some help on puppy names. I haven't decided if I'm getting a boy or a girl, but I'm ok with a boy's name for a girl pup. I have a list going right now and I am wondering which names you like best or if you have any suggestions!
My list:
Jager
Ruger
Benson
Remington (Remy)
Blue
Rio
Seamus (Shay-mus)
Huck
Trigger
Ace
Cairo
Diesel
Annie
Eli
Hurley
Moose
Roux (Roo)
Jasper
Hampton
Rory
Whiskey
Dodger
Ranger
Sullivan (Sully)
Bruin

Sorry, but asking others who do not know you or your dog to name it makes no sense. Stop and think about it, would you ask strangers to name you child.
You obviously thought enough about it to come up with these names that you do not need others to decide for you. Naming "your" dog is your responsibility. Pick one that suits the dogs personality and you will be fine.

This is where Yogi and I disagree LOL! Whilst I would never ask anyone to choose a name for one of my dogs I do enjoy the fun of asking/making suggestions. When I was looking for my youngest dog his name was the burning topic of conversation in our household for weeks - I had the name before I found the pup!
I like the list you've got but if you want some more ideas - is there somewhere that has special memories for you or your family, somewhere that you could name the pup after? What about favourite movie characters? My dog's name was chosen for a variety of reasons, one of the being that it was the mammoth in the Ice Age movies and I knew I would have a little dog with a mammoth personality! And you are thinking of a chocolate lab - what about naming him after a favourite chocolate bar?

Welcome to the forum!
If you get a Golden Retriever---My favorite breed although I have never had a 'pure' Golden--I have had and have one now of a Golden Retriever/Cocker Spaniel mix----Anyway to me your list doesn't have many names that I would name a Golden--only one to me might be Annie! My mix that I have right now is called Sami and this is a female. My other mix was called Corky. Goldens have a sunny smiley personality and something to keep in mind when trying to name one. Mine is a happy girl that always looks like she is smiling. Some names I would suggest for your list:
Sami or Sammy of course
Goldie
Golda
Charlie (female)
Willow
Sunshine
Sunny (not a favorite of mine but it does fit!)
Smiley
Anything happy, sweet, friendly, warm

This post is over 7 months old. I do believe the OP has found a name for the dog. Shame she didn't come back to tell us what it was.
