MagIQ DVD is a breakthrough in helping babies develop critical social, emotional and cognitive skills by enabling real-time interaction between a cuddly "Active Companion" and digital media. Your child can watch as this adorable puppy responds to on-screen action with an array of synchronized words, sounds and exclamations -- all while encouraging your baby to do the same. These specialized "Active Viewing" experiences help form a "MagIQ triangle" between your baby, the companion and the television. Your child will no longer stare passively at the screen -- instead she will look aside at her friend, pondering its reactions. This causes her to explore her own feelings and react proactively to the stimuli on the screen. Running time of DVD: 45 minutes.
Customer Review: A cute concept and super fun video
I couldn't wait for this to come out after reading about it in parenting magazines. My daughter gets so excited when the video comes on and she smiles at all the characters. The songs are really cute and catchy. I can only think of 2 drawbacks: 1. The belly button song is a little silly: "Belly button, belly button, when you touch it great things happen. It's my tiny tickle dot. That's the spot!" 2. What's with the bright blue light?? I'm sure it has to do with picking up the signal or whatever but why does it have to be so bright? I'm worried that it might hurt my daughter's eyes.
Customer Review: Annoying blue light
Overall, I think the toy is great but what is the purpose of the belly button's blue light? It bothers my sons eyes when he looks at the toy. It is like shooting a laser into his eyes. I've covered up the light by putting a tshirt on the doll but it really took away from the cuteness factor of the doll. I just can't figure out what is the point of that light.
