Another straight-to-video sequel of a so-so animated film. The original 1989 All Dogs Go to Heaven was hardly inspired but contained expert Don Bluth animation and the amusing voices of Burt Reynolds and his gang. Now Steven Weber voices the animated mutt Charlie who is still palling around with the same gang through three movies and an animated series. Here the arch villain, Carface (Ernest Borgnine), gets the traditional Dickens treatment of being visited by three ghosts on Christmas Eve. The opening number, "When I Hear a Christmas Carol," is a good start, but soon TV-ish animation and the low humor wears one down. Kids who like the earlier Dog efforts won't be disappointed, but the entire series can never be defined as great entertainment. The saving grace is the foolproof Christmas Carol visitations. --Doug Thomas
Customer Review: The worst version of a Christmas Carel.
This was the only movie in the trilogy that I thought was clean enough to get a G rating. They did not follow the story line from the last two films. We meet a new Villian Belandona Ambells evil sister who has manipulated Carfaxce and his minnion Killer to help here ruin Christmas. How careface got on Earth when he supposed to be dead and be in Hell is never covered. They have a cheesy flash back when you find out why he became such a bad dog. Charlie is supposed to alive giving and second chance at the end of second film When he returned Gabriels horn. Belandona is decent but not as evil as the other villians I have seen if on my top hundred villans list Belandona is 11th in the top 20. The 1st Sauron. The 2th Naraku. 3th Malificent. 4th Cluney. The 5th Slagar the cruel. The 6th Tasarmina. 7th. Badrang. 8th Golloum 9th Team Rocket. Tenth Kagura. I hardly recommend you don't she this movie it sucks even though it has a happy ended. And Carface goes good.
Customer Review: The worst in the series
This is a cheesy vcerson of the Christmas carol. It messed up the story line from the past to. Characters are alive that are supposed to be dead. Carface is supposed to be in Hell he got pulled down into it at the end of the second one. If you are 5 or older. The good thing about it is a lot more approapriate than the original and is rated corrected. I think the first one should have ben PG13 and the second should of been PG. Unfortunatley back then the did not have any pg13 rated cartoons until Beehives in Butt do America can out. It would have be better Ive they had put the king gator in it. Belonda is okey she is evil and wicked. But I've seen betetr. If I had a top hundred villians list see would be the 11th on the list.
