Default Simple Effort Plus Metal Gate

Customer Review: Great Gate...Except For One Major Flaw
We replaced a manual wood gate with the Evenflo because of the remote opening feature. For a few days, we loved the new gate, then began to notice that we'd hear a clicking noise and find the gate had opened itself. After joking about a Poltergeist in our home for a few days, we began to notice a link between using our Microwave and the door opening phenomenon. Although this explains most of the opening events, it also happens in the middle of the night sometimes, when no one is using the microwave. This could be a rare problem due to our particular power microwave and it's proximity to the gate (or a Poltergeist!), but it is a major flaw to it's usefulness to us.
Customer Review: So Easy to Use!
I am just so excited about this metal gate. I have this one that I bought from Babies R Us and another one that I bought at Target. It's so easy to use. You just stand it up and turn the 4 corner knobs to tighten against the door frame. You need 4 "C" for the gate, 1 "9v" battery for the wall button, and the battery for the remote control is included. Since this is the first electronic gate I've ever seen, I made sure to follow the intructions step by step and had no problems getting it set up and working in less than 10 minutes. My husband was impressed that I didn't need his help! I use this gate to keep my 2 toddlers in the family room away from the kitchen. I keep the remote control on a lanyard (not included) around my neck during the day when I walk through a lot. At night I love that I can store the remote in the wall unit so I don't lose it. If your hands are full, you can actually hit the button with your elbow and viola - totally handsfree! There's a night light that turns on anytime it detects motion, but I actually turn that off because I don't need it. The red and green lights tell us right away if the gate is not shut - which by the way you just slam it like a regular door. It's not like some other gates where you have to walk the gate door back into the frame. I should point out that the gate is totally safe. When you push the button on the remote or on the wall, the door doesn't jus swing wide open, you actually have give it a push (I use my knee). And if you don't get to the door within 3 to 5 seconds, the gate automatically locks back up for extra security. One last bonus is that the gate is a nice taupe color that looks great in my house!
