Customer Review: Another smashing success for Miyazaki
This tape (well, the EP tape I have with the same title) contains, "Treasure Under the Sea" --rich character development, numerous cool ships and aircraft, and a lot of dramatic tension as Sherlock Hound and Watson follow in hot pursuit of Prof. Moriarity and his two henchmen, Smiley and George, who have stolen a submarine for nefarious purposes. To my knowledge, the rest of the episodes on this tape are NOT directed by Miyazaki, but are still a lot of fun. In "Runaway Freight Train," Sherlock Hound is called in to solve the mystery of a freight car stolen from the middle of a moving train. Other great Miyazaki episodes can be found on the tape "Sherlock Hound in Tales of Mystery." For more information on Miyazaki and his amazing works, visit nausicaa.net.
Customer Review: If you love Holmes, yet also love anime and don't mind....
... that is, don't mind the fact that all the characters have been turned into dogs. This is another great Celebrity's "Just For Kids" video. Known in Japan as "Maiteitai Holmes" ("Famous Detective Holmes") this translation is excellent, and the characters even have british accents! Some may not like that some character personalities went through a small change (Holmes is a lot more friendly) but I personally think alot of the changes--including changing all the characters into dogs--were for the better. Unlike other animes, there are no (that I've noticed) cases of bad voice acting or bad dubbing. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with an EP version (Which I hear has less episodes and lower quality animation) but that can only mean the SP version (Which you can order direct from Celebrity Video) is incredible. Hound is one of the best anime series' out there, and its important considering that most of the ported anime is stereotypical junk.
