Customer Review: Don't Believe It
These guys have a great reputation; it seems like practically every thing I've ever read about them has been over-the-top praise; "Faces meet the NY Dolls" etc, etc,...not to mention that Dave Kusworth from the Jacobites and Bounty Hunters (two absolutely classic bands) is the guitar player on it. So why isn't this better? I almost hate to say it, because I really wanted this to be as good as everybody says, but the final verdict is that this absolutely sucks! I'm not a stickler for clean production values, in fact a little bit of dirt is better, but I just found this completely unlistenable. I might've made more of an effort if the songs warranted it, but I just couldn't get into it AT ALL. Oh, and as a parting shot, the cover artwork is atrocious.
Customer Review: Could play this over and over
Although there are hints of it, the dogs don't sound very much like their older selves on this album. This is very loud with a dual lead guitar kind of sound. Rockin' is a very good way to describe this album. Fans of Hanoi Rocks, faster Rolling Stones, or a lot of other '77 or rock bands should love it. This isin't quite punk but it's not quite glam rock/metal either. It's a great combination. The mix is a little bit rough at times so if you're a freak about music having to be mixed perfectly you hsould take that into consideration. Enjoy.
