Customer Review: In the middle
Piece Dogs was one of those bands that emerged in 1992 to a confusing musical landscape. Grunge was the latest thing, but metal was still pretty popular. Piece Dogs opted for something of a fence-straddling hard rock sound. They weren't too far removed from the hair metal style - though they managed to avoid its clichı trappings and subject matter - but they also incorporated some grungier hard rock elements. The end result is Exes for Eyes, a decent hard rock album that sounds like Warrior Soul without the intelligent sociopolitical lyrics. It shouldn't come as much of a surprise that the band didn't last more than a single album, nor should it surprise anyone that its members joined the ranks of various nu-metal bands. This one is for 90's rock die-hards only.
