Replace with a new Eveready Energizer (R) 9 volt alkaline battery or equivalent. Do not use heavy duty, rechargeable or general purpose 9 volt batteries. I have stopped aggressive charging dogs several times at 15-20' with this product. It works but not on my own dog.
